To enter the bios on most Advent laptops you need to press F1,F2 or the Del key quickly after switching on the machine. Never bring drinks or other liquids near the Toshiba laptop. Toshiba Tecra A3x A7 Motherboard
The computer won't switch on or will crash intermittently. Some video problems also require a motherboard repair as most video chips are soldered onto the system board. The system starts up with dots or lines on the bios or intro screen. Graphics are distorted, blocked or pixilated. In some cases the system refuses to boot. Strange effects when windows or mouse are moved on the screen. All these effects can be caused by a faults related to the graphics chips. Toshiba Tecra A3x A7 Power Jack Pin or Socket
The laptop will not charge the battery. When the battery power runs out the computer stops working. We repair or replace power sockets where the power pin has broken or has become disconnected from the motherboard. In some cases the power connector makes a poor connection with the Tecra A3x A7 jack. This causes arcing which can generate enough heat to melt the Tecra A3x A7 dc jack and the power pin may become lose. It is best to get the Toshiba power socket repair before the battery is totally depleted as this can cause permanent damage to the battery.

The laptop switches on but the screen remains dark. In some cases a faint image is visible on the Tecra A3x A7 screen. This problem can be caused by a faulty Tecra A3x A7 fluorescent light, inverter, video cable or a problem on the motherboard. Backlights use very high voltages and it is easy to cause damage to the system if they are not correctly handled and installed. Make sure that you have a good connection to your mains adapter and that the battery is fully charged.
