There a small thin florescent tube at the bottom of the Packard Bell TFT screen. This provides the lighting for the Packard Bell screen. When the tube developes a fault the screen may give a pink or red hue to the image. We replace the tubes with high performance ultra white tubes which give a better image. Battery can not charge - Is notebook connected to AC? Connect AC adapter. Make sure battery is good and installed properly. resistor, capacitor, transistor, diode are found on most boards. They can be surface mounted to save space.
