No Power - When the power button is pressed, nothing happens, power indicator does not light up. Is the notebook connected to power (AC or a charged battery)? Connect AC or battery. Try another known good battery or AC adapter. Power ok? Replace the faulty AC Adapter or Battery. Replace motherboard if still faulty. Never try to update the ADVENT bios unless absolutely necessary - we see a lot of machines where a mucked up bios upgrade renders the Acer motherboard useless. All BIOS upgrades are dangerous and should be avoided. The Acer mains adapter converts 240V AC current to 19V DC current which the laptop can use. It is also safer to have a low DC voltage in the laptop than to have 240V AC.
