It is vital that you test your Dell CD/DVD drive using a factory manufactered disk. CD-Rs and CD-RWs might give you the impression that the Compaq drive is faulty when they are not recorded properly, incompatible or faulty. Make sure there are no obstructions to airflow either into or out of the Compaq laptop. Q. Why do you offer a NO FIX - NO FEE service when most companies charge for inspection and engineer time even when they can't repair the laptop?

A. Our aim is to only profit from successful repairs. We are confident that our expert engineers will repair most of the laptops we receive at the quoted price. We give you an honest and realistic quote before you send us the laptop. We try to prevent uneconomical and impossible repairs being sent to us - this saves you time and carriage costs.

Q. What is the postage for sending back the computer?

A. We charge £18 delivery/insurance for laptops being returned to a UK mainland address. You can also arrange for collections from our premises and only pay your own courier service.

Q. What is the time scale for repairs?

A. It really depends on the exact nature of the fault. Most backlights, keyboards, LCDs and broken power socket pins can be repaired in 1-2 days, when parts are in stock, otherwise 4-5 days. Video and motherboard faults usually take 2-5 days because extensive testing is required after repairs. Same day repairs need to be prearranged to ensure that engineer time and parts are allocated for the job - please call.

Q. What happens if my computer develops the same fault during the 90 day warranty period.

A. We have a very low returns rate, about 1 in 50 repairs. With all complex electronics there is a small chance that a fault may recur. We aim to give all warranty jobs top priority and fix the fault quickly. We also reimburse the postage for warranty returns. If the fault can't be repaired then a FULL REFUND will be given for the initial repair and the laptop returned to you.
