HP tablet PCs have a touch sensitive layer in front of the LCD panel. If this layer is damaged then the repair is likely to be very expensive. Never try to update the SONY bios unless absolutely necessary - we see a lot of machines where a mucked up bios upgrade renders the Netbooks motherboard useless. All BIOS upgrades are dangerous and should be avoided. Transistors, diodes, LEDs, integrated circuits, and other electronic devices use a semiconductor rather than a conductor.

Q. Some companies try to sell you a replacement laptop because they make bigger profits on sales than on repairs. Will you try to sell me a laptop? 

A. We are a repair company 100% - we don't sell any laptops - new or old, so there is no conflict of interest. Most users prefer to have their existing laptop, with all their favourite software and data, fixed. Most new laptops are now sold with Vista and users may need more time to learn the new operating system. Your old camera, scanner, printer or webcam might need new Vista drivers.

A. It really depends on the exact nature of the fault. Most backlights, keyboards, LCDs and broken power socket pins can be repaired in 1-2 days, when parts are in stock, otherwise 4-5 days. Video and motherboard faults usually take 2-5 days because extensive testing is required after repairs. Same day repairs need to be prearranged to ensure that engineer time and parts are allocated for the job - please call.

Never bring drinks or other liquids near the HP laptop. Spills kill 70% of laptops. If you are very luck then only your keyboard will need to be replaced. The problem with large scale integrated circuits is that there are millions on components inside them and just one failure may render the whole chip or PCB useless Most LCD/TFT screens are damaged by impact. Dropping the Fujitsu laptop or stepping on them causes the glass in the screens to crack. One customer reported that his cat tried to attack the fish on his wallpaper and cracked the screen. Shutting the Luton lid of the laptop with a pen on the keyboard will also destroy your screen. The Sony liquid then escapes into other layers of the panel.
