Placing any item on the keyboard or palm rest or keyboard is risky. If the lid is closed without removing the item the LCD panel will break. The audio connecters can get worn with regular use or if the cable is yanked. These are usually soldered onto the motherboard or on a separate audio board. Replacing the audio boards is quite easy. Re-soldering the sockets on the motherboard involves removing the motherboard and can be a very difficult repair. We try to prevent uneconomical and impossible repairs being sent to us - this saves you time and carriage costs. No point in flogging a dead horse. 

Q. What happens if the cost of repair is higher than the phone quote?

A. There are some cases where a laptop has suffered more damage than the initial diagnosis would suggest. The engineer will call you with his findings and provide you with a revised quote. You have the right to reject the repair. If you collect your laptop from our premises there is absolutely NO CHARGE.

Q. What is the time scale for repairs?

A. It really depends on the exact nature of the fault. Most backlights, keyboards, LCDs and broken power socket pins can be repaired in 1-2 days, when parts are in stock, otherwise 4-5 days. Video and motherboard faults usually take 2-5 days because extensive testing is required after repairs. Same day repairs need to be prearranged to ensure that engineer time and parts are allocated for the job - please call.

Q. What happens if my computer develops the same fault during the 90 day warranty period.

A. We have a very low returns rate, about 1 in 50 repairs. With all complex electronics there is a small chance that a fault may recur. We aim to give all warranty jobs top priority and fix the fault quickly. We also reimburse the postage for warranty returns. If the fault can't be repaired then a FULL REFUND will be given for the initial repair and the laptop returned to you. 

Q. Do you have a workshop in Knightsbridge?

A. We are based in Harrow (North London), but we do service laptops and supply spare parts for customers all over the UK including Knightsbridge.
