PIO Port Test Error. When a print command is issued, printer prints nothing or garbage. Check if PIO device is installed and CMOS LPT port setting is correct. Try another printer. From Hardware: Power off the computer. Remove the battery pack and measure the voltage between battery terminals 1(+) and 6(ground). If the voltage is still less than 7.5 Vdc after recharging, replace the battery. To check the battery charge operation, use a discharged battery pack or a battery pack that has less than 50% of the total power remaining when installed in the computer. The Dell CMOS setup allows you to configure how you want the Dell BIOS and devices to operate. Certain setting are relevent to how the software behaves too. Try using the default setting when trouble shooting your Dell laptop.
