Dell Latitude X300 VGA Video Graphics faults
The system starts up with dots or lines on the bios or intro screen. Graphics are distorted, blocked or pixilated. In some cases the system refuses to boot. Strange effects when windows or mouse are moved on the screen. All these effects can be caused by a faults related to the graphics chips. About 90% of faults can be repaired, the rest are caused by cracks on the motherboard and impossible to repair. Dell Latitude X300 Power Jack Pin or Socket
The laptop will not charge the battery. When the battery power runs out the computer stops working. We repair or replace power sockets where the power pin has broken or has become disconnected from the motherboard. In some cases the power connector makes a poor connection with the Latitude X300 jack. This causes arcing which can generate enough heat to melt the Latitude X300 dc jack and the power pin may become lose. It is best to get the Dell power socket repair before the battery is totally depleted as this can cause permanent damage to the battery.

Dell Latitude X300 LCD Backlight & inverters
The laptop switches on but the screen remains dark. In some cases a faint image is visible on the Latitude X300 screen. This problem can be caused by a faulty Latitude X300 fluorescent light, inverter, video cable or a problem on the motherboard. Specialist tools are required to determine the exact cause of the fault. Backlights use very high voltages and it is easy to cause damage to the system if they are not correctly handled and installed. Make sure that you have a good connection to your mains adapter and that the battery is fully charged. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER interrupt a BIOS update. Let it finish, even if it seems stuck and takes a long time.

We have plenty of new and used power adapters suitable for most systems. The cost of power adapters vary from £29-£90. Most Acer UK home users are now connected to the internet using broadband. Always use the WEP security to stop hackers entering your network. There are many cables within your VGN laptop. There may be cables to connect the floppy drive, hard drive, display, inverter and CD Drive. Most cables have no problems. The inverter/display cable can have wear and tear problems. That cable is flexed every time the screen lid is opened and shut. A lot of Aspire cables get damaged when customer decide to dismantle their laptops. Cables are designed to be removed from their connectors by pulling the connector out - NOT YANKING THE WIRE. Many manufactures are now refusing to supply cables that connect the LCD to the motherboard - apparently the whole screen needs to be replaced(?). Be very careful with those cables.
