Dell Latitude D430 Motherboard
The computer won't switch on or will crash intermittently. Some video problems also require a motherboard repair as most video chips are soldered onto the system board. Dell Latitude D430 VGA Video Graphics faults
The system starts up with dots or lines on the bios or intro screen. Graphics are distorted, blocked or pixilated. In some cases the system refuses to boot. Strange effects when windows or mouse are moved on the screen. All these effects can be caused by a faults related to the graphics chips. About 90% of faults can be repaired, the rest are caused by cracks on the motherboard and impossible to repair. Dell Latitude D430 Power Jack Pin or Socket
The laptop will not charge the battery. When the battery power runs out the computer stops working. We repair or replace power sockets where the power pin has broken or has become disconnected from the motherboard. In some cases the power connector makes a poor connection with the Latitude D430 jack. This causes arcing which can generate enough heat to melt the Latitude D430 dc jack and the power pin may become lose. It is best to get the Dell power socket repair before the battery is totally depleted as this can cause permanent damage to the battery.

Dell Latitude D430 LCD Backlight & inverters
The laptop switches on but the screen remains dark. In some cases a faint image is visible on the Latitude D430 screen. This problem can be caused by a faulty Latitude D430 fluorescent light, inverter, video cable or a problem on the motherboard. Specialist tools are required to determine the exact cause of the fault. Backlights use very high voltages and it is easy to cause damage to the system if they are not correctly handled and installed. Our engineers can replace the backlight lamps in most TFT/LCD screens including the new xbrite panels. We also have access to most backlight inverters and cables. Run diagnostics to check memory, hard drive, keyboard and video graphics. In 99% of cases a failed bios update will make the computer totally unusable so take a backup of your software and data too. Make sure that you have a good connection to your mains adapter and that the battery is fully charged. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER interrupt a BIOS update. Let it finish, even if it seems stuck and takes a long time.

Most laptops have a built in modem. The Acer modem electronics are sometimes on the motherboard or on a separate card. If your London modem has failed then the first piece of equipment to check is the modem cable. Connecting another modem to the line may help to eliminate any line faults. We can supply internal modem boards for most London laptops. Machines with faulty onboard modems might have to resort to a PCMCIA. Operating system not found errors are usually caused by having a non-bootable CD or floppy in a boot drive. It may also be caused by a faulty Acer hard drive or system board.
