Q. Why do you offer a NO FIX - NO FEE service when most other companies charge for inspection and engineer time even when they can't repair the laptop or the parts are too expensive?

A. We are confident that our expert engineers will repair most of the computers we receive at the quoted price. We give you an honest and realistic quote before you send us the laptop. We actively discourage uneconomical and impossible repairs being sent to us - this saves you time and carriage costs. 

Q. What happens if the cost of repair is higher than the phone quote?

A. There are a few cases where a laptop has suffered more damage than the initial diagnosis would suggest. The engineer will call you with his findings and provide you with a revised quote. You have the right to decline the repair. Don't forget that our engineers always quote the lowest realistic prices. If you collect your laptop from our premises there is absolutely NO CHARGE.

Q. How long do repairs take?

A. It really depends on the exact nature of the fault. Most backlights, keyboards, LCDs and broken power socket pins can be repaired in 1-2 days, when parts are in stock, otherwise 4-5 days. Video and motherboard faults usually take 2-5 days because extensive testing is required after repairs. Same day repairs need to be prearranged to ensure that engineer time and parts are allocated for the job - please call.

The transformer on Toshiba inverter may burn out and cause a backlight problem. No Power - When the power button is pressed, nothing happens, power indicator does not light up. Is the notebook connected to power (AC or a charged battery)? Connect AC or battery. Try another known good battery or AC adapter. Power ok? Replace the faulty AC Adapter or Battery. Replace motherboard if still faulty. Optical drives include CD, CD rewriters, CD DVD Drives and Combo Drive - CD, CD rewrites with Bank DVD. These drives can become faulty with use in areas where there is a lot of dirt or smoke. Keeping your media clean will also help to ensure that Bank dirt does not enter your laptop. Electronic faults usually require the drive to be replaced. Drives that have unusual fronts designed to match the rest of the laptop may be difficult to find. We can obtain most drives for branded Bank laptops.
