Acer Aspire 9800 9120 Motherboard
The computer won't switch on or will crash intermittently. Some video problems also require a motherboard repair as most video chips are fixed to the system board. Our engineers perform component level repairs on most Acer motherboards. We replace resistors, capacitors, transistors and also work on the major chips, such as the video chip, within your system. Acer Aspire 9800 9120 LCD Backlight & inverters
The laptop switches on but the screen remains dark. In some cases a faint image is visible on the Aspire 9800 9120 screen. This problem can be caused by a faulty Aspire 9800 9120 fluorescent light, inverter, video cable or a problem on the motherboard. Specialist tools are required to determine the exact cause of the fault. Backlights use very high voltages and it is easy to cause damage to the system if they are not correctly handled and installed. Our engineers can replace the backlight lamps in most TFT/LCD screens including the new xbrite panels. We also have access to most backlight inverters and cables. We can perform repairs on some very rare inverters. It is very easy to destroy an expensive LCD/TFT when removing/installing the CCFL. Acer laptop repairs can be costly, the best way to prevent accidental spills is to never have a drink on a level higher than the laptop. The Acer mains adapter converts 240V AC current to 19V DC current which the laptop can use. It is also safer to have a low DC voltage in the laptop than to have 240V AC. There are many cables within your Compaq laptop. There may be cables to connect the floppy drive, hard drive, display, inverter and CD Drive. Most cables have no problems. The inverter/display cable can have wear and tear problems. That cable is flexed every time the screen lid is opened and shut. A lot of Acer cables get damaged when customer decide to dismantle their laptops. Cables are designed to be removed from their connectors by pulling the connector out - NOT YANKING THE WIRE. Many manufactures are now refusing to supply cables that connect the LCD to the motherboard - apparently the whole screen needs to be replaced(?). Be very careful with those cables.
